NAWP produces breast cancer awareness factsheet

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month where people all over the world show their support for everyone affected by breast cancer. This month, NAWP has produced an information factsheet to help raise awareness of breast cancer and highlight the signs and symptoms of breast cancer in women, men and transgender women.

Pay talks covering 6,000 pharmacists employed by Boots, ongoing since the summer, reach a crucial point as PDA Union members reject the company offer of a sub-inflationary 2% increase to pay (plus 0.38% lump sum).

PDA invites all pharmacists to take part in the 2021 Safer Pharmacies Survey

The PDA has today launched their sixth annual patient safety survey, which invites pharmacists to share their experience of safety in the workplace. This survey is open to employed and locum pharmacists wherever they work.

DHSC consultation on extending free PPE to the health and care sector after 31 March 2022

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is consulting on whether it should extend the provision of free personal protective equipment (PPE) to the health and care sector after 31 March 2022. The PDA will be responding to the consultation and are also on the DHSC’s PPE engagement panel.

PDA is calling on all pharmacists to voice their concerns on safety in the workplace

The 2021 Safer Pharmacies Survey is due to go live later this week (22 October). This is an annual survey that gives pharmacists the opportunity to voice their concerns on safety in the workplace. Less than safe working conditions risk harm to patients as well as damaging consequences for pharmacists.

Welsh Pharmacy Award winners 2021 revealed

Last Wednesday (13 October 2021), pharmacists were once again able to come together in person and be publicly recognised for their excellence at the Welsh Pharmacy Awards which took place at The Vale Resort in Glamorgan. The awards were held virtually last year in response to Covid-19 restrictions.

PDA Union is delivering pay increases for pharmacists transferred to NHS trust organisations
