Men’s Health Week: 14 – 20 June 2021

To mark Men's Health Week (MHW), the PDA is raising awareness of preventable health problems for males of all ages. The week is internationally recognised and encourages men and boys to engage in healthier lifestyle choices, and urges them to seek professional advice early for health difficulties.

Help raise the profile of community pharmacy funding in England

The PDA support the 38 Degrees petition, created by the NPA, that calls on the Westminster government to recompense pharmacies for the extra costs they have incurred by staying open to provide health services during the COVID-19 pandemic. The petition now has almost 100,000 signatures, but needs more to make sure politicians and the general public know about this issue.

Third-year pharmacy students: Oriel applications are now open

Oriel applications are now open for third-year students in England, Scotland and Wales who wish to begin their training in July/August 2022. The application deadline is Wednesday 23 June 2021.

PDA members help pre-regs in the run up to the July 2021 assessment

Last week, three PDA members were guest speakers at an online PDA event that helped to support over sixty pre-regs due to sit the July assessment. The session, held exclusively for PDA members, saw Johnny Blatchford, Samuel Opoku and Abby Clarke share their experience of sitting the first online assessment in March 2021.
