Boots pharmacists’ pay settlement 2024/25

Pharmacists at Boots secured recognition for their union in 2019, and this is the fifth year of collective bargaining where, unlike other store staff, pharmacists have been able to negotiate for improved pay. This is possible because the PDA Union is independent with its own resources and infrastructure.

PDA highlights possible vote on assisted dying

The PDA is calling for UK lawmakers to include a conscience clause in bills that would legalise assisted suicide or assisted dying (AS/AD). This clause would allow pharmacists not to be under any obligation to participate in any aspect of an AS/AD process if they have an ethical objection.

Addressing racial undertones in the language of pharmacy

Community pharmacist, Chair of the PDA’s Southeast Regional Committee, and co-opted member of the PDA BAME Network, Nav Bhogal addresses the racial undertones in the language used in pharmacy. Nav also provides information on the negative undertones and suggests alternatives in a call for change.
