PDA Reps Network in Lloyds hosts virtual member meetings

Last month, the PDA Reps Network in LloydsPharmacy held a series of interactive member meetings and are pleased to say they had a very positive turnout. As the recognised trade union for pharmacists employed by Lloyds, the PDA Reps wanted members to have the opportunity to talk about issues important to them.

Conclusion of 2021 pay negotiations with Boots UK

Following a special meeting of the PDA Union National Executive Committee (NEC) on Friday evening, the 2021 pay talks with Boots UK have been concluded. The agreed settlement will now be implemented ASAP.

Calling all pharmacists to help with the Covid-19 vaccination booster programme

More than 5,000 members of the PDA are already significantly involved in the delivery of Covid-19 vaccinations and have been for some considerable time. However, some NHS officials have asked the PDA to help identify if there are any additional pharmacists who will consider joining the vaccination effort at this critical time. In response, the PDA is contacting members across the UK to establish a list of those additional pharmacists willing to participate.

Scottish Pharmacy Award Winners 2021 Announced

Last month the Scottish Pharmacy Awards returned after the 2020 awards were hosted online in response to Covid-19 restrictions. Scottish pharmacists came together in person at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow to celebrate their successes over the last year.

Tragic death of student highlights the need to promote sources of help and guidance

The PDA wishes to reiterate sincere condolences to the family and friends of pharmacy student Mared Foulkes who took her own life in 2021 after receiving exam results that suggested she had failed, when in fact she had passed on a resit.

LloydsPharmacy pay negotiations begin

The PDA Union has submitted its first-ever pay claim on behalf of pharmacists employed by LloydsPharmacy. The pay claim seeks an increase above price inflation to help restore the purchasing power of members’ income.
