Boots yet to respond to PDA’s request to waive restrictions on pharmacists who face cuts to hours and pay

On behalf of members facing company-imposed cuts to their working hours, the PDA requested senior Boots management to waive the contractual clauses that prevent pharmacists from working for other pharmacy employers.

UK Government reverse policy on mandatory Covid-19 vaccinations of staff in CQC regulated roles

The UK government has announced that the mandatory Covid-19 vaccination of healthcare workers for deployment in certain CQC regulated roles will no longer be implemented on 1 April 2022 as it is no longer considered proportionate.

GPhC appoints a new provider to deliver the common registration assessment

Health Education England announce funded independent prescribing courses available before March 2022

Universities who offer GPhC accredited Independent Prescribing (IP) and Clinically Enhanced Pharmacist Independent Prescribing Course (CEPIP) have been working with Health Education England (HEE) to provide an initial offer for courses that will be available before March 2022 for eligible pharmacists. The PDA calls for additional funding and more notice of opportunities, in order to support participation.

PDA secures nearly £196K in payments for pharmacists through recent tribunal claims
